I am a Platonist: I believe there is an ideal world of mathematics and we merely discover the universal truths therein.  I do however have great appreciation for mathematics motivated by non-platonist views.

Mathematics is everywhere: everything you see around you that is not crafted by banging stones together, involves inconceivable amounts of mathematics.  To make sure mankind never runs out of new things to make, we daily replenish the world with new maths. You need not thank us for that.

My research is about logic and analysis.  This includes Nonstandard Analysis, Reverse Mathematics, and Proof Theory.
