Map of the campus "Sterre" and surroundings

How to get there...
-
If you travel by train (see http://www.nmbs.be),
it's a 10 minutes walk from St-Pietersstation
to the Campus "Sterre". Follow the 'Prinses Clementinalaan', on your right when you leave the station.
On the second traffic lights turn to the right (under the railway bridge)
and follow the 'Krijgslaan'. At the traffic lights, turn left (following
the tram tracks). Immediately to your right is the main entrance
of the campus. For the Department
of Pure Mathematics, follow the signs to building S22 (via the road on your left, between
the cottages). You might consider to take at the railroad station the
tram (20, 21 or 22) which goes to the direction
"Zwijnaarde"; you find these trams in the tram-tunnel.
They will bring you in 5 minutes to the Galglaan (there is
a stop before the crossing with the Krijgslaan, and one after the
crossing with the Pintelaan).
-
If you travel by car (or motorbike) from the E-40 highway Oostende-Brussel,
you leave the highway at 'Gent-St. Denijs' (see sign towards station).
Take the direction Gent. At the end of the road (Kortrijkse steenweg) you end up at a
roundabout. Take the road (Krijgslaan) (more or less straight on)
which goes parallel with the campus. There is a side-entrance after
about 200 meter; the main entrance (corner Galglaan-Krijgslaan; note
tramtracks) is a little bit further on.
At the side-entrance turn left and drive almost to
the end of the campus. Behind the last main building (3-floors)
turn right, take the road between the cottages and you will see the
low building of the Department of Pure Mathematics (marked "S22") at your right.
-
If you are coming from the E-17 highway Rijsel-Antwerpen ("Lille-Antwerp"), you can leave
the highway at 'Gent U.Z. exit 9'. Turn right in the direction of the
'Universitair Ziekenhuis' (University Hospital), and go straight
until you meet traffic lights. Go left and follow 'De Pintelaan',
pass the next traffic lights, and at the next crossroad you have the
Galglaan. To visit the
Department
of Pure Mathematics go to the right (along the tramrails), and almost
immediately (just behind the tram shelter) cross the tramrails and enter
the gate to the campus. The Deparment of Pure Mathematics is located
in the low building S22 just in front of you.
