The opposite of courage in our society is not cowardice. It is conformity. --Rollo May

In 2014, I completed my PhD under the supervision of Leo Storme and from October 2014 to August 2019 I have been working on a postdoctoral grant of the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO).

My main field of research is computational finite geometry. More about my research and other aspects of my work here, can be found on the respective pages on this website.

In August 2019, I decided to leave academia for a research job in the private sector, a move I haven't regretted since (if you're considering a similar move, feel free to drop me a line, I'll gladly share my experiences!) However, I'll stay in close touch with the department for the foreseeable future, as I'm still co-supervising the PhD of Lins Denaux.

If you need to contact me regarding my academic research or other UGent/FWO related things, you can always email me at, which I will attempt to keep checking for at least the coming years.

Below is a picture of my house.

Unfortunately, there was a scientist in front of the lens when this picture was taken, so you can't really see it. Well, too bad, you'll have to do it with this. :)
